Original Anime Project 'Plastic Memories' is On the Way

According to Dengeki G's Magazine, an original anime project titled Plastic Memories has been revealed as a work in progress. The project is led by Naotaka Hayashi (Robotics;Notes, Gantz, Fairy Tail) and illustrated by Okiura (Infinite Stratos).

Naotaka Hayashi will direct this new series, even though he doesn’t have a history directing much of anything, he has been a key animator for a long time. He worked on series like AKB0048, Gosick, and Steins;Gate. He directed the Morita-san wa Mukuchi series, and will be directing the upcoming “Girl Friend BETA” anime.

Okiura is the original illustrator of Infinite Stratos, the one responsible for designing and maintaining the single saving grace of the series, all the gorgeous girls, before he was kicked out in favor of a tacky substitute over publishing disputes. This might indicate even if all else goes wrong, there will be bishoujos.

The character art featured on the cover of Dengeki G's Magazine, although not really great and but it's certainly away from the normal. The name “Plastic Memories” suggests there will be some level of depth to the tale, and that which it decides to focus on.
