Bryan Singer to Direct X-Men: Apocalypse
According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox has just closed a deal with Bryan Singer to direct X-Men: Apocalypse, the next installment of billion-dollar mutants franchise. Now, Fox have confirmed that he will return for the movie that will finally bring fan favorite villain, Apocalypse (seen in the end credits sting of Days of Future Past), to the big screen.
X-Men: Apocalypse will take place a decade after X-Men: Days of Future Past and is described as the seamless next step in the ongoing storyline. The time altering plot of the previous film has unleashed a new and uniquely powerful enemy.
The new film is being scripted by Simon Kinberg from a story written by Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris. Singer and Lauren Shuler Donner are producing with Kinberg and Hutch Parker. Production begins early next year, and the film will be released May 27, 2016.
